Religious Education

St. Veronica Church, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, will strive to bring parents and children of the parish into a deep, personal communion with Christ and His Church, and to foster in them a missionary zeal for souls by:

  • Proclaiming the Word of God and His loving plan of salvation as expressed in Holy Scripture and the Sacred Tradition of the Catholic Church;
  • Acknowledging every person as a child of God, uniquely created by the Father in His image and likeness;

Teaching the Person of Jesus Christ, the source and summit of all life, through whom we are granted our salvation.

  • Provide a Christ-centered religious education program in Preschool - High School for the children of St. Veronica Parish that prepares them for the Sacraments of Penance, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and for a lifetime devotion to God. "Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." (Jn 17:3) "The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch, but also in communion and intimacy with Jesus Christ." (Catechesi Tradendae)

And He appointed twelve, to be with Him, and to be sent out to preach and have authority to cast out demons. (Mk 3:13-15) "...the disciple grows like his Teacher in knowledge and experience. For this reason, there cannot be teachers of the faith other than those who are convinced and faithful disciples of Christ and His Church." (General Catechetical Directory, 139)
    • Day of Recollection, Catechist Formation, Catechist Resources
    • Instructional Evaluation and Feedback, Catechetical Library

"Family catechesis precedes…accompanies, and enriches all forms of catechesis." (CT, 68) "Catechesis for adults, since it deals with persons who are capable of an adherence that is fully responsible, must be considered the chief form of catechesis. All the other forms, which are indeed always necessary, are in some way oriented to it." (GED, 20)
    • Formation Talks on Catholic Current Events to the Parish
    • Quarterly Catechesis
    • Bible Studies
