Catholic Youth Organization Basketball
St. Veronica Catholic School participates in the Northen Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization (NVJCYO). The mission of the NVJCYO, through its member parishes, is to organize sports programs for parish youth from various grades throughout the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. More information about NVJCYO, can be found on their website at www.nvjcyo.org.
The NVJCYO is an important component of the comprehensive approach to youth ministry in the Diocese. The programs administered by NVJCYO are meant not only to encourage healthy physical activity but also to play a significant role in the development of Catholic values in the youth of the Diocese. These activities should foster cooperation, respect, sportsmanship, responsibility, leadership, competitiveness, fairness and courtesy.
Children in grades 3 - 8 enrolled at St. Veronica School, or in the St. Veronica CCD program, are eligible to particpate on our teams. Practices are held twice a week in the evening hours, with one game each weekend. The basketball season runs from mid October through March.
Registration runs from September 26th for any interested student from third to eighth grade. No experience necessary....everyone is welcome! Practices and games will begin soon, so be sure to register! Please click here for detailed instructions on how to register. To go directly to the registration page, click here. Any questions, please contact our CYO Parish Representative, Mrs. Diane LeClercq at firstname.lastname@example.org.
