Catholic Youth Organization Basketball
St. Veronica Catholic School participates in the Northen Virginia Junior Catholic Youth Organization (NVJCYO). The mission of the NVJCYO, through its member parishes, is to organize sports programs for parish youth from various grades throughout the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. More information about NVJCYO, may be found at:
The NVJCYO is an important component of the comprehensive approach to youth ministry in the Diocese. The programs administered by NVJCYO are meant not only to encourage healthy physical activity but also to play a significant role in the development of Catholic values in the youth of the Diocese. These activities should foster cooperation, respect, sportsmanship, responsibility, leadership, competitiveness, fairness and courtesy.
Saint Veronica has participated in CYO Basketball since the founding of our school and we look forward to another entertaining season. We invite all boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 to participate. In order to form a team, we need 8 players per grade. The players can be enrolled at St. Veronica Catholic School or enrolled in St. Veronica CCD. No experience is necessary!
Registration will open in late September. Practices begin in late October; with games starting in early December. The season ends in early March.
For now, we are trying to gauge interest from each student in grades 3 through 8. Please email the CYO Parish Rep, Dan McDonnell, at email@example.com if your student is interested in playing, or if you have any questions. Please simply include the student name and grade level.
