The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic lay organization founded in 1833 in Paris, France by Frederic Ozanam and is under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul. Active members belong to the Catholic Church and work together with other religious and community organizations to provide aid to the poor. The members, known as Vincentians, serve all people regardless of race, creed or color because it is in those they serve that they see the face of Christ.

The goal of the Society is to provide emergency assistance to those in need. The traditional service is to provide person to person visits to individuals or families within their homes. These home visits with our clients allows us to assess their situation firsthand, which helps ensure that we are assisting them according to their needs. Client information obtained during a case visit will be held private and confidential.

In some areas, the Society has several other ministries that provide assistance to the poor, which include thrift stores, clothing rooms, homeless shelters, food pantries, and sheltered workshops. We feel that with the help of people getting involved and offering a little bit of their time, the poor and suffering can live better lives.

  • Our clients mainly consist of people in need of assistance with their rent or utility bills.
  • At Thanksgiving we deliver food to families in need.

  • During the Christmas season we display a giving tree which enables us to collect hundreds of gifts from our generous congregation. These gifts are distributed to many local families.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in Room P207 of the Parish Center. The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and last for one hour. New members are always welcomed.

The main source of our income comes from the generosity of our parishioners.
